Our Story

About Damex

A Ugandan agricultural export company rooted in integrity, hard work, and a deep love for Uganda's farming heritage.

Who We Are

Uganda's Coffee Exporters

Damex Imports and Exports Ltd was founded in 2025 as a private company limited by guarantee. Since entering the export business, we have built strong partnerships with farmer groups in Eastern Uganda particularly in Mt. Elgon (Bugisu) specialising in Arabica coffee. In Western Uganda (Kabale, Kigezi), we have extended our reach, and in Central Uganda (Masaka and Bukomansimbi) we are actively distributing nursery beds to support new growers.

Unlike many exporters that focus on a single crop, we treat coffee and vanilla as two halves of the same mission growing both on our own farms and sourcing from a wide outgrower network across the country.

Harvest Training

A good majority of our Arabica farmers in the central region have improved their harvest techniques, specifically targeting the FAQ (Frequently Asked Quality) benchmarks for better export grades.

We provide on-farm demonstrations in Kasese, Mukono, Mubende, and parts of Masaka — training farmers to avoid harvesting premature (half-ripe) beans, which significantly reduces mould during the curing process.

🤝

Curing Support & Community

In Bundibugyo and Kasese we provide curing solutions including quality blankets and wooden drying boxes to 156 registered group farmers and 476 individual farmers (registered 2024), which has directly increased our daily volume.

Damex also maintains strong relations with UCDA (Uganda Coffee Development Authority) and the Ministry of Agriculture through training, community development, and support for orphans and vulnerable households.
